Isabella loves flowers

We took these pictures of Isabella on Friday outside our new home (I'll have to take pictures of that too, one of these days). We love our new place for so many reasons, but one big one is that it is one house away from a great park with play areas for the babies, fields for the dogs, and a lovely wetland that attracts so many song birds--I love the early morning sounds at our new home. We can't walk to the park without Isabella stopping every few feet to literally "smell the flowers", so I was thrilled when our own tulips and daffodils (jonquils? I don't know) started to bloom this week. Granny, Pop Pop and I took Isa and Matthew out to the yard for some flower smelling that didn't involve any trespassing for once. Isabella is a real flower child--gets that from her Granny.

Happy Easter

Some sweet Easter pictures. Granny made Isabella a beautiful cardigan sweater that went so nicely with her Easter dress. Due to packing, Easter was downplayed this year, but the lovely Easter bunnies were presents from Granny and Pop Pop, and the church service was beautiful as well.

Spring Break in Vancouver

Matthew, Isabella, and I took a road trip to Vancouver for Spring Break this year. It was fabulous. We had Quinn and Aunt Rebecca with us in the car for the journey, which made the trip fly by. In Vancouver we had a great time with Granny and Pop Pop, Uncle Brian, Aunt Rebecca, Quinn, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Paul. For Granny and Pop Pop's anniversary, we took our first trip to White Spot and enjoyed Isa and Matthew's first pirate ships! We also had a great time at Maplewood Farm, a petting zoo in North Vancouver. I'll have to post some of those pics another time. Isabella and Matthew finished off their Canada trip with a game of chess in BBQ's lovely home. In the end, no winner, and the only loser was Boxer, who kept having to dodge flying chess pieces.

These pictures were taken at Rotary Park in Moscow on an unbelievably warm March day. We had so much fun walking and swinging--it's amazing to see these guys in this new year, and how their ability to appreciate and explore new places has really taken off. We marvel every day at Matthew and Isabella's distinct personalities and how their development as twins--friends and rivals--changes every day. They are approaching two years old so they both love the word "mine", but it is beautiful to see how each will go out of his/her way to make sure the other is happy. They are learning how to share, little by little.

Early Spring

These pictures were taken in February and the first weekend in March, which was absolutely beautiful in Moscow. The outdoor pics were from Lewiston, where it is always 10 degrees warmer than Moscow. The babies loved running around in the sun. I found some tumbleweed and stuck a couple of branches in Luis' glasses. It kept Matthew and Isabella busy for a couple of minutes. "Moose" is a word that both Isa and Matthew know.
