Matthew swims for the first time...
Last Wednesday and Thursday I was invited to be an external reviewer for North Idaho College's accreditation process (I really enjoyed myself, by the way). NIC put Luis, the babies and me up at the Holiday Inn and while I was working, Luis was busy teaching our little ones to swim. Isabella enjoyed the water, but not nearly as much as little Matthew, so when I got back to the hotel in the evening, we took Matthew down again so I could get some shots. Pretty fun stuff....

The video of Matthew worked, so here's a little one of Isa. I'm sure video will become more entertaining once these two are mobile, but I thought I'd try it out.
***
Let's try video
Here's a video of Matthew eating his first spoonfuls of cereal. No video for Isabella as the project was less than successful. If this video works I'll upload a brief one of her playing with her favorite new toy.
****

Happy Halloween!

We hope you all had a wonderful Halloween. I took the little ones trick-or-treating with my friends Kim and Michael and their 2 year old son Simon at the East Side Marketplace. As soon as we strolled in they fell asleep and as soon as I hit the doors to leave (Halloween loot in hand, of course), they woke up. We went home and gave out candy the rest of the night. Last Saturday Luis Alfredo and I took the babies to a Halloween party (Luis was Zorro and I was a vampire) and they slept through that too. Oh well, next year's Halloween should be more eventful, though I may get another good year in before I have to fight the little ones for some of their candy. Love to all, Ruthanne

Moving into Fall
Thursday, October 2, 2008
I think most of you have seen these in an email, but I just wanted to get them posted on the blog to show how much they've grown in the last month. What cuties. We've truly been blessed. Now if only they'd sleep through the night....

Three weeks

Ah, my little ones. They already have such big personalities. I especially love this last picture of Matthew. "What you talkin' about, Mama??" Hee, hee. We are tired but otherwise healthy. Last night the babies were pretty good, we got about two hours of sleep between each feeding and changing session. Little by little things are coming along. Life has certainly changed, but definitely for the better. Every day they are a little more alert, a little more loving, and a little more expressive. It's beautiful to watch. Hope you all are well.***

They're here!

They're finally here! These are the most recent pics of our little ones, Matthew Dylan and Isabella Jordan. They were born yesterday at 7:30 a.m. and 7:32 a.m. Isabella weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces and Matthew weighed 6 pounds 6.5 ounces. Matthew was 20 inches long and Isabella was 19.5 inches long. We feel very blessed that things went so smoothly and believe that our babies are arguably the most adorable on the planet. Wishing you all a happy Fourth of July. We plan to continue celebrating July 3 for quite some time to come. Love to all.
